Dispatch: What Printivo Controls
Orders placed before 12:00 PM Eastern on a business day (Monday through Friday, excluding Canadian public holidays) ship the same business day from Montreal. Orders placed after noon, or on a weekend or holiday, ship the next business day. The cutoff is firm and consistent. For customers in the Eastern time zone, noon Eastern is noon local. For customers in other time zones, the cutoff converts to 9:00 AM Pacific, 10:00 AM Mountain, and 11:00 AM Central.
Delivery: What the Carrier Controls
Once an order leaves our studio, delivery is handled entirely by the carrier you select at checkout. Before you confirm, you choose from the available carrier and speed options for your postal code; each option shows its estimated delivery timeframe and cost. Those estimates are provided by the carrier, not by Printivo. We do not control transit time after dispatch and do not guarantee a delivery date independent of what the carrier states at checkout. The tracking number we send at dispatch lets you follow up with the carrier directly.
No Pickup Location
There is no local pickup option anywhere in Canada. All orders are produced in Montreal and shipped via tracked carrier to your door. If you need transfers in your hands the same day you order, you would need a local supplier. What can I press DTF transfers onto?
DTF transfers are compatible with a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, nylon, and canvas. They work on light and dark garments without a white underbase step, because the DTF process lays down a white ink layer as part of the film itself. Fabric with a very open weave or a heavily textured surface may give inconsistent adhesion; smooth, tightly woven fabrics give the best results. Do you sell heat transfer vinyl (HTV)?
No. Printivo specializes exclusively in DTF (direct-to-film) transfers. We do not sell heat transfer vinyl, sublimation transfers, screen-print transfers, or any other transfer technology. HTV is a cut vinyl product that requires a vinyl cutter and weeding by hand before pressing; it works well for single-colour or simple designs but cannot reproduce photographic or complex multi-colour artwork the way DTF can. If your work requires HTV specifically, you will need a different supplier. If you are open to DTF as an alternative, it handles full-colour artwork with no weeding and no order minimum.
How long do DTF transfers last?
DTF transfers are built to resist cracking and peeling when pressed and cared for correctly. How long any transfer lasts in practice depends on three factors: application (pressing at the correct temperature, pressure, and peel timing), garment care (washing inside out in cold water, avoiding high heat in the dryer), and the base fabric (smooth, tightly woven fabrics retain adhesion longer than very stretchy or heavily textured ones). We provide pressing and care instructions with every order. Transfers that are applied and laundered correctly hold colour and adhesion wash after wash under normal use conditions.
Do I need a heat press to use DTF transfers?
Yes. DTF transfers require a heat press to apply correctly. A standard flatbed clamshell or swing-away heat press set to the temperature, pressure, and time parameters we provide is the right tool. A household iron does not deliver consistent temperature and pressure across the full transfer area, which leads to poor adhesion, lifting edges, and uneven results. If you are new to applying heat transfers, a commercial heat press is the starting point; they are available at a range of price points and are the industry-standard tool for any decorator applying heat-applied transfers at volume.
Is there an order minimum?
